I feel silly and out of touch because I didn't even realize there was strife in Iran until yesterday. Part of it is the fact that I've stopped reading the New York Times at work in favor of tv tropes and nerdy fandom things.
Part of me feels like I should be taking this summer for more personal growth; while I've been writing a lot more short fiction then I have in years AND trying to improve my craft, a lot of my evenings are still spent having Angel DVD marathons and making fun of D-party.
Oh yeah, whoever that was who tried to tell me how awesome Firefly was, you were right. |

I've been batting this around in my head the past few weeks, but something I watched on tv last night really solidified it.
To every Jerkwad in my high school,
You though you were so clever, going into automotive science, or engineering or some other random job at ford. You were assuming your middle class life was pretty much in the bag. you scorned my kind, humanities bound with non-porift dreams.
I have but a few words for you: who's laughing now, chump? |

Yes I am excited, though I don't think there will be as much Maggie Gyllenhaal, gratuitous drug use or Watership Down references as I think is necessary.

This morning, the new cat decided that my eye was a plaything and took a swipe at my face.
I think I'm Ok, but I'm tearing up in one eye like that creepy dude from Casino Royal with the S/M fetish.
